Are there any restrictions regarding content, language, subject matter etc.? Yes. All entries must tell the story of transformative experiences.

How do I determine my word count? Count all words (except the title) making up your story (no matter the number of letters in the word).

What are your formatting requirements – any other tips? All submissions must be made using a standard 12-point type size. Entries should be formatted to print on 8.5 x 11 white paper, double spaced, with 1 inch margins on all sides.

Can I submit only part of my story in order to stay within the 2000 word limit? Yes. However, if you submit a portion of a larger work, it must stand on its own merit. Your submission must feel complete as is.

Can I edit an entry that I have already submitted? Edits must be done prior to entering. Once an entry has been submitted, we do not accept edits. If you wish to re-enter a submission and pay a separate entry fee, it will be considered to be a new entry. All entries must have individual titles and file names to avoid confusion as to source.

Is there an age limit for entrants? All contest entrants must be aged 18 years or older.

How do I submit my entry fees? All entry fees are due in U.S. Dollars. Entry fees can be paid online by credit card/debit card (MC, V, AMEX & DISC) or PayPal.

What rights does Mayacamas Press hold on my work? Mayacamas Press and Love Notes Anthology maintains first time rights only; after publication rights revert to the author.

If my story is selected for the anthology will there be additional fees? Yes. If accepted, you will be asked to pay a $15 editing fee.

If my story is selected for the anthology will I be expected to help promote the book? Yes. The success of the anthology will a collaborative effort. If you story is included in the anthology, we hope that you will leverage your social media, mailing lists, and all available tools you posses to help promote the book as far and wide as possible!
